Miscellaneous

We are currently investigating the evolution of gene families involved in vertebrate  gastric function (e.g. pepsinogens), with a particular emphasis to the phenomenon of agastric vs gastric species. Collaboration with Jonathan Wilson at Wilfrid Laurier University.

A recent research topic involves what we call “the Vitaminome”, addressing the evolution of molecular pathways controlling, uptake, synthesis and general metabolism of vitamins in vertebrates.
